Miami Rowing Hosts Final Exhibition of the Season

March 16, 2012

Coral Gables, Fla.—The University of Miami Rowing team will battle the University of Connecticut Huskies on Saturday, March 17 in a day-long exhibition at the Indian Creek Waterway in North Miami Beach, Fla.

After completing their first spring scrimmage last week against the University of Michigan in Tampa, Fla., the Canes will use this exhibition as a final preparation before heading to San Diego for the San Diego Crew Classic, their first official race of the season.

“This scrimmage with UConn has become an annual event and we really look forward to it as a great early-season opportunity to test many of the skills we’ve been working on,” said Head Coach Andrew Carter. “UConn has spent the last week training at our home venue in Miami Beach, and this is a great way to cap off a dense week of spring-break training for both teams.”

The event is free and open to the public. Final results will be posted on HurricaneSports.com after the exhibition’s conclusion.
