The Game
Miami hosts the undefeated Charlotte 49ers Friday night at the BankUnited Center in the Canes’ only home game in the month of December.
The SeriesMiami is 3-4 against Charlotte all-time, with the series dating back to the 1997-98 season. The Canes are 2-1 against the 49ers at home and 1-3 on the road. Miami last faced Charlotte on Dec. 22, 2011, defeating the 49ers 76-61.

Home Court AdvantageMiami has shot better than 45 percent from the field in its four home games, hitting 52.5 percent against Stetson,  59.0 percent vs. Jacksonville and 51.9 percent against Detroit and 47.7 percent vs. Michigan State. Miami was consistent vs. Detroit hitting 14-27  shots (51.9 %) in both the first and second halves. The Canes have shot better than 60 percent in two home second halves, with 63.6 percent vs. SU and 62.5 percent vs. JU. 
Canes in the PollsMiami is receiving votes in national polls for the fourth week this season.  Miami was listed on both the AP and USA TODAY preseason polls for the first time since the 2008-09 season, when Miami was ranked 17 and 16, respectively. In 2005-06 Miami was receiving votes in both preseason polls, with 16 from the AP and six in the USA TODAY listing.
Three Canes Near Century MarkSenior Durand Scott played in his 100th career game on Nov. 24 against Detroit while classmates Julian Gamble (99) and Reggie Johnson (96) are all closing in on 100 games played at Miami. Scott leads the trio with 96 starts, followed by 66 from Johnson and 26 from Gamble. Miami’s record books are topped by 113 games started by Darius Rice (2000-04) and 130 games played by Brian Asbury (2005-09). 
Home Sweet HomeThe Hurricanes are 4-0 at the BankUnited Center in 2012-13 and are 111-47 overall in the BUC. The Hurricanes have notched double-digit home wins at the BankUnited in five-straight seasons and eight times in nine full seasons calling the arena home. 
Scott is Mr. ConsistentIn three games this season, Durand Scott has scored 15 points each outing, hitting six field goals and going 3-of-4 at the stripe. He has at least two assists and his rebounds have improved from five vs. Detroit, to six vs. MSU then seven at UMass. 
Johnson Averaging Double-DoubleSenior Reggie Johnson is averaging 12.8 points and 10.8 rebounds this season. He has pulled down double-digit rebounds in four of the five games he has played, with 13 at UMass, 11 vs. Stetson and MSU, 10 at FGCU along with nine vs. Detroit.
