Hoops Coaches Tonight's Honorary Captains
CORALGABLES, Fla. – The University ofMiami’s men’s and women’s basketball head coaches Jim Larranaga and Katie Meierwill serve as honorary captains at tonight’s Hurricane football game againstVirginia Tech.
Prior to kick-off the coaches will be chargedwith cranking the hurricane siren and each will be present at the captain’scoin toss.
The men’s basketball team, receiving votes inboth the AP and USA Today polls, opens its schedule with an exhibition match upwith Saint Leo at the BankUnited Center at 7 p.m. on Friday.
Meier and her 23rd-ranked womenwill take on Nova Southeastern on Monday, Nov. 5 at 7:05 p.m.
Each exhibition is free to the public and aSelect-a-Seat will be held for fans hoping to purchase season tickets.
