PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Universityof Miami All-BIG EAST senior forwardKym Hope (Hollywood/McArthur) was named the BIG EAST Player of theWeekafter a team-high double-double of 20.5 points and 10.5 rebounds, aswell as five blocked shots, in leading the Hurricanes to victoriesoverCoppin State (97-68) and Boston College (63-57).

In Miami’s 1998-99 home-openeragainst Coppin State, Hope ledthe Hurricane charge with 9-of-12 shooting for a team-high 21 points,while grabbing another team-best nine boards in just 24 minutes ofaction.

Previously undefeated BostonCollege rolled into the KnightSports Complex for both team’s BIG EAST opener on December 5.Hope onceagain led the ‘Canes with another 9-of-12 shooting performance foragame-high 20 points and 12 rebounds, with four blocked shots in 38minutes of play.

Hope is now averaging 19.4points and 9.6 rebounds, including2.6 blocked shots, per contest.
