CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Universityof Miami women’s basketballteam will play its final exhibition before the regular season againstTeam Miami on Thursday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Knight Sports Complexon the UM campus.
The Hurricanes, 104-51 winnersin their first exhibition gameagainst the Mexican National Team Monday, return four starters fromlastseason’s 19-10 squad that finished third in the BIG EAST Conferenceandadvanced to the NCAA Tournament. UM is led by All-America candidateKymHope. Hope, a 6-2 forward from Hollywood, was a first-team All-BIGEASTselection last season after leading the conference in rebounding (11.6rpg) and double-doubles (15) and third in scoring (17.6 ppg).
Six of Team Miami’s 15 playersare former UM graduates, whilethe rest played college or high school basketball at nearby schools.Theroster is highlighted by recent UM grad and current WNBA member oftheLos Angeles Sparks Octavia Blue.
