CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Forthe second consecutive week University of
Miami running back Edgerrin James was named BIG EAST Conference
Offensive Player of the Week. The junior from Immokalee, FL,was
recognized along with Syracuse quarterback Donovan McNabb.
James rushed for 182 yardsand two touchdowns in Miami’s 35-17
win over Boston College Saturday. His rushing output was thefifth-best
single-game total in UM history. He becomes the first Hurricane
offensive player to be named in consecutive weeks, and the third UM
player all-time, joining former Canes Tremain Mack (Special Teams,Oct.
26 & Nov. 3, 1996) and Kevin Williams (Special Teams, Oct. 13 &20,
1991).
This marks the sixth timethis season a Hurricane has been named
the league’s Player of the Week. James wins the honor for thefourth
time in his career.
The 24th-ranked Hurricaneshave an open-date this week before
returning to action, Saturday, November 14th at Temple.
