CORAL GABLES, FL-The Universityof Miami Hurricanes (3-2, 1-1)
used today’s open-week practice session to introduce the game planfor
their October 24th BIG EAST clash with No. 15 West Virginia (4-1, 1-0)
in Morgantown. Working out at Greentree Practice Field the Caneswent
through their paces for two-hour in full pads working against the scout
team offense and defense.
“West Virginia is a verytalented team, particularly at the
skill positions,” commented coach Butch Davis. “Their wide receivers
(David Saunders, Shawn Foreman and Khori Ivy) are playing very wellfor
them and the quarterback (Marc Bulger) is playing exceptional.Add
(running back) Amos Zereoue, who did not play in their last game, tothe
mix and they are a dangerous football team.”
The Mountaineers are undefeatedin conference play and have won
four straight after a season-opening, 34-17, loss to top-ranked Ohio
State. WVU won last year’s meeting with UM with a come-from-behind
28-17 victory in the Orange Bowl.
Tomorrow marks a one-dayFall Recess at the University with no
classes scheduled. As a result, the Hurricanes will practiceat 10 a.m.
at Greentree. The Canes will be off Saturday, before resumingtheir
typical game-week routine Sunday.

INJURY REPORT: There were no new injuries reported. SantanaMoss
continues to be limited after undergoing a root canal earlier in the
week for an abscessed wisdom tooth.
