ATHENS, Ga. – University of Miami diver Janel Benda (Dyer, IN) and swimmerAmy Lindblom (Milford, CT) were named All-American’s Saturday at the 1999Women’s Swimming & Diving Championship at the Gabrielsen Natatoriumin Athens, GA.

Lindblom, who was named an All-American as a freshman, earnedhonorable mention All-American honors after placing 10th in the 1650 witha time of 16:28.05; while Benda, who also earned All-American status asa freshman, earned honorable mention All-American honors after a 10th placefinish in the 3-meter springboard (475.05) and a 12th place finish in the1-meter springboard (396.75).

Benda and senior Rhiannon Leier, are the only current ‘Caneson the swimming & diving team to be named All-Americans and honorablemention All-Americans at least four times.
