CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Two University of Miami swimming and diving student-athletes were among those recognized by the Atlantic Coast Conference today as All-ACC Academic award recipients.

Freshman diver Kara McCormack and senior swimmer Dana Hatic were both named to their first All-ACC Academic teams, as announced by the conference on Wednesday. McCormack, a mathematics major, hails from Austin, Texas, while Hatic, a journalism and political science double major, is from nearby Coral Springs.

To be eligible for All-ACC Academic Team consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.

McCormack and Hatic add their names to a long list of academic award winners from the swimming and diving program at Miami, including recent graduates and standout divers Brittany Viola and Reuben Ross
