Six Hurricanes Named to Phil Steele's Postseason Lists

CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Six Hurricane football standouts earned selections to Phil Steele’s postseason teams as announced by the publication on Thursday.
Running back Lamar Miller and linebacker Sean Spence both earned First-Team All-ACC honors from the publication for their outstanding 2011 seasons.
In his first season serving as the team’s primary running back, Miller racked up the third-highest single-season rushing total in program history with 1,272 yards. Miller also found the endzone a team-high 10 times on the year, including nine rushing scores.
Spence ended his final season with the Hurricanes as the team leader in tackles (106), finishing with the fourth-highest total in the conference. The Miami native also earned Fourth-Team All-America honors from the publication for his dominant senior campaign.
Wide receiver Tommy Streeter, center Tyler Horn and left tackle Brandon Washington all earned selections to the publication’s All-ACC Second Team.
Streeter, who had only six combined receptions in his first two seasons with the Hurricanes, exploded for the team lead in receptions (46), yards (811) and receiving touchdowns (8) in 2011. He finished fifth in the ACC in receiving yards per game (67.6), and ranked in the Top-20 nationally in yards per reception.
Horn, named to the All-ACC Second Team by both the conference and by Phil Steele, anchored an offensive line hampered by injury by starting all 12 games at center. He allowed only two sacks on the year and led the Canes with an overall grade of 90 percent.
Washington made the position switch to left tackle and enjoyed a solid season as a starter in all 12 games for the Hurricanes. The Miami native was named an All-ACC selection at left guard in his sophomore season of 2010.
Linebacker Denzel Perryman was selected to Phil Steele’s 2011 All-Freshman Second Team after a stellar first season with the Hurricanes. Perryman, who ranked first among conference freshmen with 69 tackles, finished the year second on the team in takedowns and tied for third in tackles for loss with 6.5.
