Miami Finishes Second Day of U.S. Nationals

Atlanta, Ga. – University of Miami freshman swimmer Lucy Worrall made it to the “B” finals of the 100 butterfly on Friday at the 2011 AT&T Winter National Championships inside the Georgia Tech Aquatics Center. The event is being host by Georgia Tech.

The meet is a long course competition, to allow participants an opportunity to achieve Olympic Trials qualifying standards.

Worrall turned in a time of 1:00.97 in the prelims to advance to the finals, a great honor for a freshman.

The Canes wrap-up their attendance in the U.S. Nationals on Sunday. The events will include the women’s 800 free, men’s 1,500 free, 200 back, 100, free, 200 breast and 200 fly.

Action begins each day at 9 a.m. with preliminary action, and the finals session starts each night at 6 p.m.
