Hurricanes Wrap Up Fall Season With Final Day at Hooch

Head of the Hooch Day 2 Results (11/06/11)
Miami had two crews entered in this event with good results. The “A” crew finished in a solid 5th position while the “B” crew finished with the 9th fastest time.
“I think the top crew made some adjustments and found a little more speed from Saturday, which I was really proud of. I don’t think they completely hit their stride, which really bodes well for the spring as we continue to prepare and refine their racing. This group has a great deal more in store and I’m looking forward to seeing it come out. They’re terrific to coach and their approach will absolutely continue to improve their speed.” commented Coach Carter.
The second crew also had a really good race. “The margin vs. our top crew was as good as we’ve seen in training and when they came in view of the finish, it was very clear that they were asserting themselves. This crew should be very proud of how they raced.” added the head coach.
In all, this young squad had a solid weekend against some very respected competition to close out the fall racing calendar. They’ve laid a very good foundation so far this year and they’re all excited to build on that as they look to the spring.
