Hurricane Walk
Miami Hurricanes game day has a new tradition. Hurricane fans are invited to take part in the walk by forming a “human tunnel” from Gate H (Southwest Corner of Stadium) to Gate A. Join your fellow Hurricanes, the Band of the Hour, Sebastian and the cheer squads as the 2011 Miami Hurricanes football team walks from its arrival point into Sun Life Stadium. To take part in this event and welcome the Canes in grand fashion, make sure you are at Gate H by 6:00pm.

Fear The Tie
Paper orange ties will be distributed to students prior to Thursday night’s game against Virginia in honor of Coach Golden’s famous sideline attire. The ties are courtesy of UHealth Sports Medicine, the official medical provider for the Miami Hurricanes. The Athletic Department is encouraging all fans to attend the game in a white dress shirt and orange tie, and fans can RSVP for the game on the Miami Hurricanes official Facebook page.

UM Honoring Past Champions
Members of the 2001 Miami Hurricanes, the university’s third undefeated football team, have been invited to the game against Virginia as honorary guests in a ten-year anniversary celebration of the fifth national championship in program history.

The football team will be joined by several other UM Champions in a new tradition of honoring both team and individual National Champions on key anniversaries.  Moving forward, the UM Athletic Department will honor individual and team national champions the year after their accomplishment, in addition to publically recognizing their five, 10 and 25-year anniversaries.

In addition to former members of the football program, members of the 2001 Miami Hurricanes baseball team have also been invited to the game in honorary celebration of their historic season. Other student-athletes, including former NCAA champions in tennis and track and field, will also be honored in celebration of their performances.

Employee Day
The Offices of the President and the Provost and the Department of Athletics have announced that the Homecoming Day game versus Duke University on Saturday, November 5 at Sun Life Stadium has been designated the 2011 Verizon Wireless Employee Day football game. This year’s Employee Day game will be bigger and better than ever with the addition of UM Employee Stadium Bucks, discounted parking for all participants, and a host of other employee-related promotions.

The 2011 Employee Day Offer includes:
• One complimentary ticket.
• The opportunity to purchase up to three additional tickets for only $1 each.
• New this year: Complimentary $10 UM Stadium Bucks voucher with each ticket; vouchers are good at stadium concession stands and merchandise stores.
• New this year: Regularly priced $25 advanced sale parking will be reduced to $10 parking for employees.

All participating employees will be automatically entered into a raffle for UM football memorabilia and will be eligible to participate in a variety of VIP, game-day, and on-field promotions, including the opportunity to enjoy the game from UM Athletic Director Shawn Eichorst’s suite.

Tickets are available to full-time and part-time benefited employees as well as contract employees at the Hecht Athletic Center. Sales representatives at the Hecht Athletic Center will accept credit cards, and tickets are available for purchase until Friday (Oct 28) at noon. The Hecht Athletic Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. All eligible employees must present their valid ‘Cane Card at the time of purchase; only one ‘Cane Card per person will be permitted, and only one transaction per person will be allowed.

GameDay Companion
The Miami Hurricanes are offering fans the chance to experience the gameday atmosphere from the comforts of their own computer screen. “Gameday Companion 2.0” will supplement the ESPN national broadcast (8:00 p.m.) with tweets from @HurricaneSports, streaming audio from 560 WQAM, live individual and team statistics, as well as an exclusive opportunity to chat with Hurricane fans and insiders, all in one easy-to-navigate page. GameDay Companion will be available starting at 7:30pm, approximately 30 minutes before kickoff.
