Gameday Companion 2.0: Miami vs. Kansas State
Launch Gameday Companion
Can’t make it to Sun Life Stadium for the Hurricanes’ match-up with Kansas State on Saturday? No problem.
For the second season in a row, the Miami Hurricanes are offering fans the chance to experience the gameday atmosphere from the comforts of their own computer screen. “Gameday Companion 2.0” will supplement the ESPNU national broadcast (3:30 p.m.) with tweets from @HurricaneSports, streaming audio from 560 WQAM, live individual and team statistics, as well as an exclusive opportunity to chat with Hurricane fans and insiders, all in one easy-to-navigate page. GameDay Companion will be available starting at 3 p.m., approximately 30 minutes before kickoff.
Gameday Companion’s revamped features for the 2011 season include a social media experience from in and around Sun Life Stadium. From the anticipation in the tailgating lots to the excitement of the Hurricane Walk, Gameday Companion will have fans covered with pictures, news and pregame coverage. And from kickoff through the last postgame interview, Gameday Companion is the only source for exclusive Hurricanes in-game and postgame updates, including live statistics and drive charts.
The most important feature of the Gameday Companion, however, focuses on the fans. A simple click of the link on the front page of HurricaneSports.com will allow fans the opportunity to interact, chat and share their thoughts during the game. Miss a key interception? Ask a fellow fan for a recap of the play. Unsure of a player injury? A Hurricane Athletics insider will offer some insight.
The Hurricanes’ victory against Ohio State opened up a three-game homestand at Sun Life Stadium. Saturday’s game against Kansas State will be the first of two consecutive games airing live on ESPNU. Next week, Miami will battle the Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman University, set for another 3:30pm kickoff on ESPNU. Gameday Companion 2.0 will be offered for every game throughout the season, home and away, exclusively on HurricaneSports.com.
