Aug. 15, 2011
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Former Miami track star Ti’erra Brown will represent the United States in the World University Games in the 400m hurdles Aug. 16-18 in Shenzen, China.
The seven-time All-America selection won her first NCAA National Championship in June in the same 400m hurdles.
The Hampton, Va. native will run in preliminary heats beginning Tuesday at 12:35 a.m. EST. If Brown advances she will run in the semifinals Wednesday at 6 a.m. EST and then the finals Thursday at 6:20 a.m. EST.
Last summer, Brown, along with a NACAC title, would win each round on the way to a USATF 400-meter hurdle title where she put more than a full second ahead of the rest of the field in the final. She became the first UM student-athlete to win a U.S. national title.
