Novinger and Wilson Earn ACC Academic Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Miami’s Megan Novinger and Miranda Wilson have been honored as two of the 22-member 2011 All-ACC Academic Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Team, as announced by Commissioner John Swofford.

Wilson earned the honor for the third time in her career while Novinger’s accolade is a first as a member of the outdoor team. Both women earned their degrees this spring in psychology and criminology respectively.

Novinger, a Miami native, earned All-ACC honors at the conference championships with a third place finish in the high jump (1.68m). She ranks second in the UM record books with a mark of 1.80m and graduated with a 3.31 GPA.

Wilson was one of the top throwers on the team, competing in the discus and hammer throws for the Canes. The Vallejo, Calif. native ranks among the schools Top 5 in the outdoor discus and hammer throw as well as the indoor weight throw and graduated with a 3.50 GPA.
