Football Team Joins Be The Match to Help Save Lives
March 25, 2011
Dear Friends,
We at Miami Football are encouraging students, employees, friends, families, and affiliates to capitalize on the opportunity of a lifetime: The opportunity to save a life.
The University of Miami 1st Annual Marrow Donor Drive
Wednesday, April 6th from 11am-4 pm
University Center Ballroom — Flamingo Room (2nd Floor)
[]_[] can make a difference. There is no cost to be tested.
On any given day, more than 10,000 men, women and children are searching the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) Registry for a life-saving donor. The test is a simple cheek swab. No blood or needles are involved. It should take no more than fifteen to twenty minutes for each person to register and be tested.
These patients have leukemia, lymphoma and other life-threatening diseases that can be treated by a bone marrow or cord blood transplant. For many of these patients, a transplant may be the best and only hope of a cure.
Please respond to this message if you are interested in becoming a donor by contacting Ryan McNamee at 305-284-6831, via email getUrswabon@miami.edu, or by simply showing up on April 6th (11a-4p) at The University of Miami’s University Center Ballroom- Flamingo Room (2nd Floor).
Remember that the next person in need of a transplant could be you, a member of your family or a friend.
Please view this video message from NMDP advocates and visit www.BeTheMatch.org for additional information or further questions.
Gratefully,
Al Golden
Head Football Coach
