CORAL GABLES, Fla. — For the fourth time since 2004, the Miami Hurricanes will open the college football season in front of a national television audience on Labor Day.

But in 2011, the ACC has flipped the script and scheduled a UM road trip to Maryland to face the Terrapins and first-year head coach Randy Edsall in College Park, Md. It will mark Miami’s first game at Maryland since late in the 2006 season.

After the season-opening game to Maryland, which will be televised on ESPN, the ‘Canes will have a bye week before playing host to three consecutive non-conference home games at Sun Life Stadium against Ohio State, Kansas State and Bethune-Cookman.

ACC play then picks back up with back-to-back road contests atVirginia Tech (Oct. 8) and North Carolina (Oct. 15) before the ‘Canes will return home for another three-game stretch against Georgia Tech, Virginia and Duke from Oct. 22 – Nov. 5. The game against Virginia – slated for Oct. 27 – is Miami’s only scheduled ESPN Thursday night contest.

From there, Miami will make back-to-back in-state road trips with visits to rival Florida State on Nov. 12 and USF on No. 19 to wrap up the regular season road schedule.

The Hurricanes’ 12th and final regular season game will be a home contest against Boston College on Nov. 26. The game will be the first against the Eagles since the regular season finale of the 2007 season.

The full regular season schedule features seven home games (Ohio State, Kansas State, Bethune-Cookman, Georgia Tech, Virginia, Duke, Boston College) and five road games (Maryland, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Florida State, USF). The much-anticipated match-up between Miami and Ohio State on Sept. 17 will begin a stretch of six home games for the ‘Canes over a span of eight weekends.

The ACC Championship – scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 3 on ESPN – will be played at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C. for the second straight year.
