Sept. 26, 2010

CORAL GABLES – The No. 19 University of Miami football team will play in front of a national  audience for the third time in four games when the `Canes travel to Clemson.  The Tigers and Hurricanes will kick off at Noon Eastern on ESPN2, ESPN2 HD and ESPN 3D.

It marks the second time this season that UM has been covered by the ESPN 3D, the start-of-the-art viewing experience that was rolled out to cable providers prior to the 2010 season.  It will be UM’s first appearance on ESPN2 this season.

The Noon kickoff is the earliest start time of the season for the Hurricanes, who have played at night twice and at 3:30 for the Ohio State game.

The kickoff time for the annual rivalry game between Miami and Florida State could be announced later today or ESPN could select a six-day window again and hold off on the announcement until next weekend.

The Canes are 2-1 on the season and coming off are resounding 31-3 win on the road at BIG EAST preseason-favorite Pitt.

Saturday will mark the ninth meeting between the schools with UM holding a 5-3 advantage in the all-time series.  The last three meetings between the schools have been decided in overtime. Each time the road team gained victory. Clemson won at Miami 40-37 in one overtime last season.  The Tigers also won in one overtime in 2004 and Miami won at Death Valley in three overtimes in 2005.
