Miami Football Ranked 16th in Latest AP Poll

CORAL GABLES, Fla.– Following its blowout win at Pittsburgh last week, the University of Miami football team moved up to No. 16 in the AP poll and No. 17 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

The Hurricanes (2-1) will play their third straight road game and open their ACC season with a noon game at Clemson on Saturday, Oct. 2.

Miami continues to be the lone ACC team ranked in the coaches poll, while NC State joined the ‘Canes in the AP poll at No. 23.

Arkansas, who lost a close game with No. 1 Alabama on Saturday, is ranked just ahead of Miami at No. 15 in the AP poll while Texas – who lost at home to UCLA – dropped from No. 4 to No. 16 in the coaches poll.

Both polls are indentical with the first eight teams. Alabama remains No. 1, followed by Ohio State, Boise State, Oregon, TCU, Nebraska, Florida and Oklahoma. The AP poll has Stanford and Auburn at No. 9 and No. 10, while the coaches poll has Wisconsin and LSU there.

Miami’s game at Clemson will be televised on ESPN2 and ESPN 3D.
