More Wet Weather

The Hurricanes battled the weather yet again on Thursday, with storms in the area delaying the start of practice by about a half hour. When the rain and lightning finally cleared at about 7:30 a.m., the field was left in damp but decent condition for the practice. This year’s camp has been one of the wettest in recent memory on Greentree.

More Scout Team Work

The `Canes continued their scout team work for the second straight day, in addition to working 1’s vs. 1’s and 2’s vs. 2’s later in the session. Special teams was another point of emphasis yet again, with the team working through punt drills at the end of the session.

Practice Highlights

-Sean Spence, Jordan Futch, Cory Nelms and Nathan Gholston all recorded interceptions.

Vaughn Telemaque was in on a number of tackles.

DeMarcus Van Dyke and Luther Robinson each had a QB hurry while Kylan Robinson recording a pass break-up.

Jacory Harris connected with Aldarius Johnson and LaRon Byrd on a handful of long passes.

Graig Cooper and Damien Berry each had a few long gains, both running and receiving.

Leonard Hankerson caught big-gainers from Harris and Alonzo Highsmith.

Break Time

The `Canes will get a much needed break the next few days as the next practice isn’t until Sunday morning at 9 a.m. With camp wrapping up this week and classes starting back up on Wednesday, the next few days will give the student-athletes a chance to rest and re-charge as well as get their class work in order before responsibilities pick back up next week.
