Miami Names Tom Anagnost as Head Women's Soccer Coach

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt has announced the hiring of Tom Anagnost as the new head women’s soccer coach at the University of Miami.
Anagnost is the third head coach in program history, and leaves Central Michigan after leading the Chippewas to back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Tournament.
“Tom Anagnost brings a tremendous amount of knowledge to the University of Miami,” said Hocutt. “His dedication to improving student-athletes on and off the field is unparalleled and we are excited to welcome him to the University of Miami family.”
After serving as an assistant at Central Michigan for the 2007 season, Anagnost took over the program during the 2008 season on an interim basis and was named the MAC Coach of the Year after leading his team to a 12-5-3 record and a second-place conference finish.
Amassing a 40-12-7 record at Central Michigan, Anagnost guided the Chippewas to NCAA Tournament appearances in 2009 and 2010. He won his second consecutive conference coach of the year award in 2009 and saw 23 players earn All-MAC honors under his tutelage.

For all the on-field success Anagnost brings to Miami, he also possesses the necessary tools to make the Hurricanes even more successful in the classroom. After taking over the Chippewas in 2008, the Kalamazoo College graduate helped Central Michigan finish with the top grade point average in the nation each year.
Anagnost played professionally for the Chicago Power of the National Professional Soccer League in 1995 and for the Michigan Bucks of the United States Indoor Soccer League in 1996.
