El Paso, Texas – With the Hyundai Sun Bowl now just three days away, the University of Miami football team held its second-to-last practice Tuesday morning at William H. Burges High School’s Mustang Stadium.

For the second straight day in El Paso, Miami practiced for just less than two hours on Burges’ field turf surface. Temperatures again held in the 50’s, with partly cloudy skies and a strong wind throughout the session.

Morris Leaves Practice Early…
Freshman quarterback Stephen Morris left practice early Tuesday after suffering a left ankle injury. Morris, who has completed 60-of-120 passes for 958 yards with five touchdowns and eight interceptions, suffered the injury during an early red zone drill. Head coach Jeff Stoutland said after practice that Morris was still under evaluation and, as a result, he will hold off on naming a starter for the time being.

Fort Bliss Soldiers in Attendance…
For the second straight day, Fort Bliss soldiers and their families were invited to attend and watch the `Canes practice at Mustang Stadium. Approximately 150 military personnel came out to see the `Canes in action Tuesday as they continue preparation for Friday’s Sun Bowl.

– Running backs Damien Berry and Lamar Miller each had a pair of runs that reached the second level.

Leonard Hankerson stood out offensively Tuesday, while Brandon Harris made a handful of big plays on the defensive side of the ball.
