Miami – who has won five of its last six games – knocked off Oral Roberts, 69-56, on the first day of the Las Vegas Classic on Tuesday behind double-figure scoring from four Hurricanes – Malcolm Grant (15 points), Reggie Johnson (14 points, 12 rebounds), Durand Scott (14 points) and Garrius Adams (10 points). Grant leads the Hurricanes with 14.4 points per game and is shooting 90.0 percent from the charity stripe – hitting 34 of his last 35 free throws, including 29 straight since Dec. 4.

Rice defeated Stetson, 66-63, on Tuesday for its third-straight win. The Owls’ leading scorer Arsalan Kazemi led Rice with a game-high 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Tamir Jackson added 10 points and Trey Stanton contributed 11 points and eight boards off the bench.
