`Canes Rowers Take Part in Beach Cleanup

Coral Gables, Fla. – University of Miami rowing student-athletes did their part in helping the Miami-Dade community over the weekend, taking part in a beach cleanup on Sat., Nov. 13 at Crandon Park Beach in Key Biscayne.

Headed up by UM junior rower Theresa Recicar (Boca Raton, Fla.), a total of 20 UM rowers volunteered their time and service over the weekend by helping to pick up trash and cleanup nearby a stretch of Crandon Park Beach.

Every second Saturday of the month, Miami-Dade County has a volunteer day, and this time it was the University of Miami rowing team doing its part to help the local community by volunteering their time and service to pick up trash and clean up nearby Crandon Park Beach in key Biscayne.

Organized by UM junior rower Theresa Recicar (Boca Raton, Fla.), the Hurricanes had a total of 20 rowers volunteer for the monthly event.
