Nov. 15, 2010

GREENSBORO, N.C. – University of Miami freshman offensive lineman Brandon Linder was named Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Lineman of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday. Linder is the fourth UM offensive lineman to earn the honor this season, joining Orlando Franklin, Brandon Washington and Tyler Horn.

Linder took snaps at center, guard, tackle and tight end for Miami in the Hurricanes’ win over the Yellow Jackets in Atlanta. While playing four different positions, he managed to grade out at 97 percent with two pancake blocks and one lumberjack. He also played a key role in the Canes posting season-highs in rushing yards (277) and total yards (507).

Previously, Miami earned lineman of the week honors on Sept. 27 (Franklin), Oct. 18 (Washington) and Oct. 25 (Horn).

No. 21 Miami (7-3, 5-2 ACC) will play host to No. 15 Virginia Tech (8-2, 6-0 ACC) on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Sun Life Stadium. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN.
