• The Hurricanes are one of 23 teams that received votes in the AP Poll and were chosen to finish eighth in the ACC Preseason Poll after finishing last season with a 22-14 record and an appearance in the WNIT Championship Game.
• Rollins ended the 2009-10 season with a 20-9 record and finished second in the Sunshine State Conference (Division II). In the SSC Preseason Poll, the Tars were picked to finish third.

The Coaches
• Katie Meier is 72-84 in her five seasons at Miami and is 148-129 overall as she enters her 10th season as a head coach. She signed a five-year contract extension in the offseason after leading the `Canes to the WNIT Championship game and a 2009-10 record of 22-14.
• Rollins’ head coach Glenn Wilkes Jr. enters his 24th season and has compiled at record of 532-175. His teams have won 12 regular season conference titles, six conference tournaments and advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament 11 times.

Previewing Miami
The Hurricanes are led by All-ACC players Shenise Johnson and Riquna Williams. Last season the tandem scored an average of 38.6 points per game as Johnson nabbed first team all-conference honors while Williams earned second-team accolades.

Miami was picked eighth by the ACC’s Blue Ribbon Panel in the conference preseason poll and were on of 23 teams that received votes in the first AP Poll of the season.

The `Canes enter the 2010-11 season fresh off a postseason run that saw the team reach the finals of the newly expanded WNIT. UM returns six letterwinners from that squad, including three starters and introduces five players in the incoming class.

Shenise Johnson Earns Preseason Honors
Junior guard Shenise Johnson is being hailed as one of the best players in the nation. As evidenced by her appearance on several national player of the year watch lists.

• Preseason Wooden Award Watch List
• Preseason Wade Trophy Watch List
• Preseason All-ACC First Team

Previewing Rollins
Starting his 25th year at the helm of the program, head coach Glenn Wilkes Jr. returns four starters and 10 letterwinners from last year’s 20-win team.

Last season’s leading scorer Brittainy Daiger, who is moving from the floor to the bench as a graduate assistant coach, leaves the largest void that needs to be filled. Rollins, however, was very deep a year ago and returns talent in key areas.
