Miami to Face No. 3 Maryland in Regular Season Finale

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s soccer team will face No. 3 Maryland tomorrow in College Park, Md. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Ludwig Field.
The Hurricanes (10-7-1, 4-5-0 ACC) fell 1-0 in double-overtime to No. 11 Boston College on Thursday and will look to rebound against the Terrapins.
The `Canes have reached the 10-win plateau for just the fifth time in program history. Led by senior Brittney Steinbruch – the program’s all-time leading scorer – the Hurricanes have scored 30 goals in a season for the first time since 2007. Steinbruch has scored a team-leading eight goals on the year and Miami has four different players that have scored three or more goals this season.
The Terrapins (14-2-1, 6-2-1 ACC) are two days removed from a 2-1 win over No. 8 Florida State on their home field.
Maryland features three players that have scored eight or more goals – led by Jasmyne Spencer’s nine. Sade Ayinde and Ashley Grove each have eight goals.
The Hurricanes would be assured a trip to the ACC Tournament (Nov. 3-7) with a win or a tie or a Virginia Tech loss or a tie. The Hokies host NC State on Sunday.
