Miami Completes ACC Cross Country Championships

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. –

The University of Miami cross country team ran in the 2010 Atlantic Coast Conference Cross Country Championships Saturday at Franklin Park.

The women were led by Brooke Dovell , who as a freshman has finished first in every race this season. The Erial, N.J. native finished the 6K race in a time of 22:32.6. Two seconds later, fellow freshman Lindsi Arrington crossed the line at 22:34.5.

Senior Katharine Woodard finished third for Miami at 22:37.4. She was followed by Allison Ludwick and Emma Steppe.

Freshman Connor Adams paced the men’s team as he completed the 8K race in 25:54.2 and sophomore Greg Kaczka finished close behind at 26:06.3. Senior Charles Michel and freshmen Sean Pezzulo and Luke Fontaine rounded out the Top 5.

Florida State swept the team championships, while NC State’s Laura Hoer claimed the women’s individual title in 20:04.4 and Emil Heineking of Virgina winning the men’s race in 23:40.1.
