Hurricanes to Face No. 11 Boston College

CORAL GABLES, Fla. –

The University of Miami women’s soccer team is set to begin a two-game road trip, beginning with No. 11 Boston College Thursday at Newton Soccer Field. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m.

Miami (10-6-1, 4-4-0 ACC) has reached the 10-win plateau for just the fifth time in program history. Led by senior Brittney Steinbruch – the program’s all-time leading scorer – the Hurricanes have scored 30 goals in a season for the first time since 2007. Steinbruch has scored a team-leading eight goals on the year and Miami has four different players that have scored three or more goals this season.

Boston College (11-4-1, 4-4-0 ACC) features Victoria DiMartino, who has 12 goals and seven assists on the season for a total of 31 points – second-most in the conference.

Eagles’ keeper Jillian Mastroianni has recorded five shutouts this season and has allowed only 1.00 goals per game.

The Hurricanes would be assured a trip to the ACC Tournament (Nov. 3-7) with a win or a tie in either of its next two matches or a Virginia Tech loss or a tie in either of its final two games. The Hokies face Clemson on the road on Thursday and NC State at home on Sunday.

The `Canes will face No. 3 Maryland in College Park, Md. on Sunday.
