UM Women's Golf Ready for ACC Championships

Coral Gables, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s golf team wraps up the regular season when the team travels to the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships Apr. 16-18 in Greensboro, N.C., at the Sedgefield Country Club.
The 54-hole tournament will feature 18 holes of competition per day at the par-71, 6,355-yard course. The Hurricanes are paired with Maryland and Boston College during Friday’s opening round. Play begins at 8:30 a.m. each day.
The Hurricanes are competing in their sixth ACC Championships. Miami’s lineup will include Maria Ronderos, Shelby Gilbert, Christina Hirano, Begona Sarabia and Melanie Kleiner. Three UM golfers currently rank in the top 30 in the league – Jennifer Hirano (20tht, 75.77 stroke average), Ronderos (25th, 76.32 stroke average) and Shelby Gilbert (30th, 77.23). Jennifer Hirano is not competing in the ACC Championships.
Wake Forest claimed last year’s title. Duke has a total of 16 ACC titles while Wake Forest has claimed four and North Carolina one.

TheACC.com will provide a free webcast of the championship with coverage of the No. 17 and No. 18 holes. The broadcast is slated to begin at approximately 1 p.m. during Saturday and Sunday’s rounds.
