“It was more of a home field advantage kind of thing. We came out and the weather was great. The timing of the race was great. It was the first meet for a lot of competitors out here, and it was the first meet for me. I think it went really well. The timing wasn’t what I expected, but it’s still my first race.”

“I could have ran better, but getting a win is nice. I started out pretty good, but then at the end of the race I came up a little shaky. Then we also had a strong headwind at the end, and that kind of messed me up a little bit as well. Overall, it felt good, and it’s great coming to Miami. I had never come here before, and it was nice.”
