Ronderos, Hirano Lead 'Canes at Qdoba Invitational

Qdoba Day 1 Results

University of Miami sophomore Maria Ronderos and freshman Jennifer Hirano shot a 74 and 75 respectively putting them in the top 20 after day one of the Hurricanes’ Qdoba Invitational on Sunday at Don Shula’s Golf Resort.

 

Miami is ninth with a team score of 305, which leaves the Hurricanes four strokes out of the top four. Georgia State leads the tournament at three-over par 291 followed by NC State (294), Louisville (299) and Tulane (301) rounding out the top four.

 

After firing a 38 on the front nine, Ronderos broke even on the back nine and sits at two-over par, tying for 15th, going into the second round. Jennifer Hirano was one-over par after shooting 37 on the front nine. She ended up three-over par which has her tied for 18th.

 

Sophomore Christina Hirano and freshman Begona Sarabia both shot six-over 78 tying for 40th on day one followed by senior Anabelle Paulino who is tied for 49th after shooting 80 in the first round. Sophomore Brooke Stuart, who is competing as an independent in the tournament, posted a 94 in round one.

 

The second round of the tournament is slated to tee off at 12:30 p.m. Monday.
