Vikki Alonzo Named Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week

Coral Gables, FLA (www.hurricanesports.com) — – Freshman goalkeeper Vikki Alonzo has been named the Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the period October 20-26.

In two games last week, Alonzo made a total of nine saves in shutouts against Duke and Wake Forest. Against the then 9th ranked Blue Devils on October 23, Alonzo recorded five saves as the Hurricanes battled to a 0-0 tie. She recorded her 10th shutout of the season when she stopped four shots in the team’s 1-0 victory over number 19 ranked Wake Forest on Sunday, October 26. A native of Carrollton, Tex., Alonzo’s 10 shutouts are a school record.
