Charles 10th in Olympic Long Jump

BEIJING, China – – Former University of Miami track standout Tabia Charles placed tenth in the long jump final in Beijing. With a leap of 6.47 meters on her third attempt, Charles completed her first Olympic competition.

Charles, representing Canada, earned eight All-American honors while at Miami (2004-06) including a national championship in the triple jump in 2006. This is her first Olympic games and she still stands as the school record holder in the indoor and outdoor triple jump and the indoor long jump.
