Duke Downs Miami in ACC Opener, 84-72

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) – Chante Black and Wanisha Smith each scored 16 points to lead 12th-ranked Duke over Miami 84-72 on Saturday night in the Atlantic Coast Conference opener for both teams.
Black also added 10 rebounds and four blocks, and Joy Cheek had 10 points and seven rebounds for Duke (12-3), which won its seventh straight game. Smith hit a career-high five 3-pointers.
Maurita Reid led Miami (7-9) with 22 points. Albrey Grimsley added 14 points and Latoya Drake finished with 11.
Duke outrebounded the Hurricanes 47-28.
