Ross Sets Pool Record At OSU Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio – University of Miami sophomore diver Reuben Ross set a pool record with a score of 431.85 in the three-meter event at the Third Annual Ohio State Invitational Saturday at OSU’s McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.
Ross, who qualified for the finals earlier in the day with a score of 341.90 in the preliminary round, finished 52.55 points ahead of Alabama’s Aaron Fleshner who finished in second place.
Brittany Viola was also representing UM on the women’s side, placing fourth in the one-meter event with a mark of 278.45 after qualifying with a score of 278.15. She finished behind two divers from host Ohio State and one from Indiana.
On Friday, Viola qualified for UM’s lone event of the day, the three-meter diving final, with a mark of 280.90 before finishing third with a score of 315.55 in the final, placing behind two opponents from OSU.
Sunday will mark the final day of the invitational with UM’s divers competing in the platform events on both the men’s and women’s side.
