Hurricanes Wrap Up Play at Ryder/Florida Championships

MIAMI LAKES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s golf team concluded the third and final round of the 37th Annual Ryder/Florida Women’s Collegiate Golf Championships in eighth place Sunday at Don Shula’s Golf Club and Resort.
Combined, Miami fired rounds of 318, 310 and 325 to place eighth with an overall score of 953.
Junior Hagen Weintraub led the Hurricanes with a three-round total 234 (75-78-81) which placed her in a tie for 20th followed by senior Josie Shinn who shot a 235 (80-74-81) which tied for 22nd.
Senior Tiffany Prats shot 238 (81-78-79) while sophomore Anabelle Paulino and senior Urd Pedersen fired three-day totals of 251 (87-80-84) and 254 (82-87-85), respectively.
South Florida claimed the overall team championship, shooting a three-round total 908 (307-305-296) followed by state runner-up Florida Southern’s 918 (298-313-307).
USF’s Christina Jones won the individual title after upping Rollin’s Laura Fourdraine in a one-hole playoff. Both players shot 222 (+8) over the three days.
