Hurricanes Begin Second Week of Practice
March 28, 2006
Coral Gables – The Hurricanes began their second week of spring practice this afternoon.
“I don’t think we quite had the energy that we had the first four days,” said head coach Larry Coker, “and it was somewhat of a short practice (one hour, 40 minutes) because so many players have evening classes. But we’re making progress, and as long as we’re making progress, I’ll be happy.”
Of last Saturday’s scrimmage, Coker commented, “Guys made some big plays on offense and there was a big turnover on defense. There was a big touchdown. So there were some big things on both sides. I like the attitude of the offense. Kyle Wright and Kirby Freeman made some plays. Running the ball was tough because we were going against an eight-man front. But we have to make some plays in the running game.”
The Hurricanes will practice again at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday at the Greentree Practice Fields. Hurricane season tickets are now on sale and can be purchased at www.hurricanesports.com or by calling 1-800-GO-CANES.
