Hurricanes to Play in MPC Computers Bowl vs. Nevada in Boise, Idaho on Dec. 31

Coral Gables, Fla. (www. hurricanesports.com) – – The University of Miami Hurricanes will take on the Nevada Wolf Pack in the 10th annual MPC Computers Bowl Classic in Boise, Idaho on December 31. The game will be played on the blue field of Bronco Stadium at Boise State University and will be televised nationally by ESPN. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
This will mark the ninth consecutive year the Hurricanes will play in a postseason bowl game, and it is their first trip ever to the MPC Computers Bowl. It will also mark the first game ever between the Hurricanes and the Wolf Pack. Nevada is 8-4 and finished in third place in the Western Athletic Conference.
“The University of Miami is looking forward to the opportunity of playing in the MPC Computers Bowl against the University of Nevada,” said Miami athletic director Paul Dee. “We are excited about experiencing the hospitality of the Boise community. I am pleased our team qualified for its ninth consecutive bowl appearance.”
“We were very pleased to become bowl-eligible and have an opportunity for our players to play in a bowl game,” said Miami head coach Larry Coker. “We have a lot of young players, and I think a bowl experience will be very good for them. I’ve heard very good things about the MPC Computers Bowl, and I know Boise is an outstanding and vibrant city. We look forward to representing the University of Miami well.”
Miami is making its 33rd bowl appearance overall. The Hurricanes have a record of 18-14 in 32 previous bowl games. The 6-6 Hurricanes finished in fourth place in the Coastal Division of the ACC.
