The Game
Following back-to-back road games, Miami returns home Thursday night to face No. 21 Boston College at the BankUnited Center at 7 p.m.

First-year head coach Katie Meier and the Hurricanes are 12-4 on the year and 2-1 in ACC games. The Hurricanes rank in the top half of the league in six different categories including scoring, averaging 76.3 points per game which ranks fourth in the conference and 15th in the NCAA.

National Player of the Year candidate Tamara James tops the ACC and ranks fifth in the NCAA in scoring (21.3 ppg). James sits among the ACC’s best in field goal percentage (14th), three-point percentage (8th) and free throw percentage (5th) while leading the league in steals (3.19 spg).

Freshman Brittany Denson is third among all ACC freshman in blocks (1.3 bpg) and rebounding (6.3 rpg).

A Quick Look at Boston College After dropping their last three games, the 21st-ranked Eagles are 12-5 on the year and 0-3 in ACC play. The Eagles have stifled opponents, allowing just 54.4 points per game this season and rank eighth in the NCAA in rebounding margin (+10.1).

Boston College has two players averaging double figures in senior forward Brooke Queenan (14.4 ppg) and junior guard Kindyll Dorsey (11.2 ppg). Queenan also tops the BC roster in rebounding (8.9 rpg).

The Series In a match-up of former BIG EAST rivals, Miami, who joined the ACC last season, and 2005-06 ACC newcomer Boston College will meet for the 24th time Thursday night. Miami holds a 15-8 edge in the all-time series with the Eagles.

In the last meeting, Boston College knocked off UM 65-53 in the first round of the 2004 BIG EAST Tournament in Hartford, Conn.

Boston College’s last trip to Coral Gables was memorable one as the Eagles became the first team to play in the BankUnited Center – formerly the Convocation Center – in a 79-61 win over the Hurricanes in the building’s opening night Jan. 15, 2003.
