Coral Gables, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami women’s track and field coach Amy Deem was inducted into the UM Hall of Fame on Monday night.

Deem, in her 16th season, has built the UM Women’s Track and Field program from the ground up. Prior to her arrival Miami had never had an NCAA qualifier. During her tenure Deem has coached 33 student-athletes to 116 All-American honors and nine individual NCAA titles.

This season she led Miami to a sweep of the ACC Indoor and Outdoor titles for the second consecutive season. It is no surprise that for the second straight year she was honored as both the ACC Indoor and Outdoor Coach of the Year.

Overall Deem has guided Miami to eight conference outdoor titles and four conference indoor titles. She is also a four-time conference indoor Coach of the Year and an eight-time conference outdoor Coach of the Year.

The Hurricanes have also become a national power earning the program’s first No. 1 national ranking earlier this season. Miami has placed in the top five of the last two NCAA Indoor Championships and in the top-10 of the last two NCAA Outdoor Championships.
