Steward Finishes Sixth At ACC Golf Championship

Pinehurst, N.C. (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami sophomore Jessica Steward (Mystic, Conn.) fired a final round 73 to finish tied for sixth at the ACC Women’s Golf Championship in Pinehurst, N.C.
Steward posted a three-day total of 225 (74-78-73) to finish 13 strokes back of Duke’s Amanda Blumenherst who ran away with the individual title after a final round 72 on Sunday. Blumenherst, who finished 4-under-par for the tournament (69-71-72–212), was seven strokes better than her next closest competitor.
As a team the Hurricanes recorded a 307 on Sunday and finished in eighth-place with a three-day total of 933. No. 1 ranked Duke won its 11th consecutive ACC Championships recording a three-day score of 885. Virginia was a distant second (904).
