Steward Ninth Heading Into Final Round

Pinehurst, N.C. (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami sophomore Jessica Steward (Mystic, Conn.) shot a second-round 78 and is tied for ninth heading into the final round of the ACC Women’s Golf Championship in Pinehurst, N.C.

Steward’s two-day total of 152 is 12 strokes back of Duke’s Amanda Blumenherst who is running away with the individual title after a 71 on Saturday. Blumenherst, who is 4-under-par for the tournament (69-71–140), leads her next closest competitor by eight strokes.

As a team the Hurricanes recorded a 310 on Saturday and are in eighth-place with a two-day total of 626. No. 1 ranked Duke leads the tournament with a score of 591, 17 strokes better then second-place Virginia.

Final round action is scheduled for Sunday at 8:00 a.m.
