Feb. 10, 2006

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Three members of the University of Miami women’s soccer team – Ashley Durkee, Lindsay Curtin and Paulelette Ricks-Chambers – have garnered selections to the 2005 All-ACC Academic Team.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.

Durkee, a senior defender for the Hurricanes last season, was one of only seven players on the 42-member team to earn a 4.00 GPA for the semester.

All 11 ACC schools were represented on the inaugural team. North Carolina, Boston College, Clemson and Wake Forest led all schools with five honorees each on this season’s academic team. Duke and Virginia Tech each had four selections, while NC State, Miami, Maryland and Florida State each placed three student-athletes on the squad. Virginia rounded out the team with a pair of honorees.
