Summer CanesFest Weekend Set for July 30-31, 2005

Coral Gables, Fla. (www. hurricanesports.com) – – Summer CanesFest is here!

With football practice and their second season in the Atlantic Coast Conference just around the corner, the Miami Hurricanes will host the annual Summer CanesFest next weekend in Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties, with fun for fans of all ages. Admission and parking are free to both events.

The first CanesFest will run from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, July 30 at the Knight Sports Complex on San Amaro Drive on the UM Campus. Fans should park near the Metrorail and in the parking garage on Ponce De Leon Boulevard.

In Palm Beach County, the second CanesFest will run from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, July 31 at the South Florida Fairgrounds in West Palm Beach.

Head coach Larry Coker and members of the University of Miami football team will attend the two events, which will feature interactive games for kids, player autographs sessions, a Q&A with Coker, Sebastian the Ibis and the University of Miami Cheerleaders. In addition, fans can purchase tickets, merchandise and apparel. On Saturday in Miami, the UM Sports Hall of Fame adjacent to the Knight Complex will be open during the Canesfest.

The Hurricanes kick off their 2005 season on Monday, Sept. 5 when they play Florida State in Tallahassee on Labor Day night.
