The University of Miami women’s golf team fired a final round 298 to finish fourth this weekend at the Taco Bell Intercollegiate in Greenville, N.C.
Miami, which entered the final round in a tie for ninth place, had four players shoot 76 or better en route moving up five spots with three-round total of 897 (299-300-298).
Augusta State captured the team title with a score of 875 (286-297-292). Georgia State placed second (285-290-305–880) while Maryland was third (294-287-301–882).
The Hurricanes were led by sophomore Jessica Steward (Mystic, Conn.) who placed in a tie for 14th with a three-round total of 222 (71-76-75–222). Junior Josie Shinn (Pinehurst, N.C.) finished in a tie for 19th with a score of 223 (76-72-75–223) while junior Tiffany Prats (Williston, Fla.) ended the tournament tied for 24th (76-76-72–224).
Miami returns to action October 29-31 at the Seminole Classic in Tallahassee, Fla.
