CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s soccer team will take to the Palmetto State Wednesday night to square off with ACC foe Clemson at 7 p.m. at Riggs Field in Clemson, S.C.

The Hurricanes head into Wednesday night’s game with an overall record of 6-8-1 and a 1-5-0 mark in ACC play following a 2-0 win over Maryland last Sunday in Coral Gables. The shutout against the Terrapins snapped a six-game skid for UM and ended a five-game scoreless drought.

Redshirt sophomore forward Rebecca Tweneboah netted her third goal of the season against Maryland, putting her in a three-way tie with freshman midfielder Bryn Heinicke and freshman forward Paulelett Ricks-Chambers for the Hurricane lead in goals.

Heinicke leads Miami in nearly every other statistical category, recording more points (10), shots (35), shots on goal (16) and assists (4) than any other UM player this season.

Freshman midfielder Rachael Rigamat follows just behind Heinicke in total shots, posting 28 on the season followed by Kelly Pflugner – who scored her first goal of the season against Maryland – with 20 shots.

The Tigers are 6-5-2 on the year with a 1-3-1 record in league play after picking up their first ACC win against Virginia Tech last week.

Clemson is led by senior midfielder Allison Graham who tops the Tiger roster in goals (3), assists (7), points (13) and shots (21).

Wednesday’s game will mark just the second meeting between the Hurricanes and Tigers, who won the only previous meeting – a 4-2 decision last season in Clemson.
