The Hurricanes
The Hurricanes head to Clemson coming off a 62-57 victory over in-state rivals, No. 19 Florida State Thursday night in Coral Gables to snap a five-game skid and give UM their first ACC win of the season. Miami and head coach Ferne Labati, who needs just one win to reach 300 on her career at UM, will attempt another first of the season against the Lady Tigers Monday, searching for their first road win of the season. The Hurricanes are 0-7 in games on opponents’ home floor this season, compared to an overall record of 8-2 in games at the Convocation Center, and are scoring just 52.3 points per game on the road – 11.4 points below the season average of 63.7 points per game. Junior Tamara James leads the Hurricanes and is second in the NCAA in scoring, averaging 22.4 points per game. The National Player of the Year candidate also leads the team in rebounding with 7.0 rebounds per game and has averaged 8.2 over the last five games. Senior Yalonda McCormick comes off a 23-point, seven-rebound performance against the Seminoles and is averaging 12.0 points per game this season. McCormick is also second in the ACC both assists (6.11) and steals (3.22) per game. Senior Fallon Phanord is one only two players to start every game this season and has produced career best in every category.

The Lady Tigers
Head coach Jim Davis and the Lady Tigers currently hold an overall record of 7-11 and a 1-5 mark in ACC play. Clemson opened their conference schedule with a 78-65 win over NC State and since gone on to lose five-straight, falling to FSU, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and most recently, a 53-48 decision at Georgia Tech. The Lady Tigers are one of the league’s best free throw shooting teams, hitting 72.8 percent from the stripe, which ranks second in the ACC. Clemson also ranks second in the conference in three-pointers per game, averaging 5.6 per contest. Clemson is led by junior Reggie Maddox, who averages a team-best 9.9 points per game, followed by freshman D’Lesha Lloyd’s 8.4 points per game.
