SAAC Meeting Minutes

Taurii Coyne called the meeting to order.

1. Laura Comeau spoke about the attendance competition amongst the student athletes. Her idea was to call the competition “Golden Games Ultimate Canes” (Golden Games). Each team needs to pick a event to attend and set a date. To be discussed a next meeting.

2. Regarding the Life Skills Classes a SACC member will be trained to give a presentation to their team on Hazing which will be the first semester and Gambling will be next semester. This will show their leadership ability.

3. We spoke about the ACC Top VI Awards the criteria and who do we pick? Students need to go back to their teams and be prepared with ideas for this award next meeting.

4. Next meeting we have a group photo so everyone must wear their shirt that was given to them at the meeting Monday September 12, 2005. For those who were not at the September 12, 2005 meeting t-shirts will be available.

5. We will invite Paul Dee and President Shalala to our SACC meeting sometime either January or February 2006.

6. Our ACC SACC representatives will have a conference call with the other SACC ACC schools.

7. Two people from each sport need to help update sections on the SACC website (Hurricane Sports.com) including section of free stuff, the SACC roster, Agenda for the week, month, and year, Games, Special Events and updated minutes.

8. Please remember to collect your used tennis shoes that are in good condition to donate to the Charlie Program.

9. Facilities Issues – Men’s Track – Locker Room, Rowing – Laundry Service

Reminder Next SACC Meeting will be held on Monday September 26, 2005 at 5:30pm in the Bernie Kosar Room
